Learn to control light rather than letting it control you. 

Are you a photographer who is ready to move beyond natural light and take complete creative control of your images? 


This hands-on workshop breaks down flash and strobe lighting and includes instruction, demonstrations, and experimental time.  Our class size is limited to 10 participants to allow plenty of practice time for your new lighting skills.  


You’ll learn to use artificial light confidently to achieve consistent results both in the studio and on location.

Photographers who own a DSLR or mirrorless camera and want to begin using flash. This class is ideal for beginner to intermediate photographers who understand the basics of photography and want to learn intentional lighting skills.

  • How to recognize and create classic portrait lighting patterns that flatter your subject 

  • Sync speed, shutter, aperture, and ISO—how they work together with flash

  • The inverse square law

  • Common lighting mistakes to avoid

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR

Josh Baker, owner of AzulOx Visuals, is a commercial photographer based in Austin, Texas.  Josh has over 9 years of experience teaching photography classes, including automotive photography, architectural photography, and creative portraits.  Josh is passionate about advancing the photography community and loves pushing the technical envelope to produce interesting and unique results.
